The Jumanji: Open World trailer is finally here. Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan return for the franchise’s final adventure in cinemas this December.

The Jumanji: Open World trailer has officially landed, and if first looks are anything to go by, this final adventure is going to be bigger, wilder and a lot more chaotic than anything we’ve seen before.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan are all back for one last trip into the world of Jumanji. Alex Wolff also returns as Spencer Gilpin, as the beloved franchise gears up for what promises to be its biggest chapter yet.
But this time, there’s one major twist.
Instead of pulling people into the game, the game comes into the real world.
The Opening of the Trailer
The trailer opens with Spencer enjoying a quiet holiday meal with his family before the unexpected happens. A giant rhinoceros suddenly charges through the restaurant, turning an ordinary day into complete mayhem. Moments later, Spencer comes face-to-face with Dr. Xander “Smolder” Bravestone, Professor Sheldon “Shelly” Oberon, Franklin “Mouse” Finbar and Ruby Roundhouse—except they’re no longer inside the game.
According to the trailer, the avatars have escaped into reality and are now “stuck in demo mode.” The only way to restore order is to jump back into the game once more. As expected, things don’t go according to plan, with characters switching bodies with people from Spencer’s real life, setting up another round of hilarious mix-ups and unforgettable moments.
Familiar Faces You Should Expect to See
The film also brings back familiar faces, including Danny DeVito, Nick Jonas and Awkwafina, while welcoming Marin Hinkle, Bebe Neuwirth, Lamorne Morris and Rhys Darby to the adventure.
From giant animal stampedes to laugh-out-loud body swaps and edge-of-your-seat action sequences, the trailer packs everything fans have come to love about the modern Jumanji films. But this time, the stakes feel even higher because the danger is no longer confined to the game.
How Jumanji Started
The Jumanji story first began as Chris Van Allsburg’s 1981 children’s book. This was before becoming the much-loved 1995 film starring Robin Williams and Kirsten Dunst. More than two decades later, the franchise found a whole new generation of fans. This was with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle in 2017 and Jumanji: The Next Level in 2019.
Now, after years of adventures, Jumanji: Open World is preparing to bring the journey to an emotional and action-packed close when it hits cinemas on December 25, 2026.
