Mr P Says P-Square Reunion Was Never Real
Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, better known as Mr P, has finally spoken about the events that led to the return and second breakup of P-Square.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, the music star claimed the reunion was never a genuine comeback. Instead, he described it as a “fake reunion.”
According to Mr P, his only goal was to rebuild his relationship with his twin brother, Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy. He insisted he never wanted to revive P-Square as a music group.
How the Reunion Happened
Mr P said the process started after he returned to Nigeria from Atlanta. Before his flight landed, his caretaker sent him a message asking him to forgive Paul because he had apologised.
He tried calling Paul but got no response. Later, his wife told him Paul had visited their home around 4 a.m. She also recorded the emotional moment.
“My wife came back and held me and told me that Paul came to the house at 4 a.m. and was scared,” he recalled.
“She said Paul kept saying he was tired.”
After hearing that, Mr P decided to make peace.
“I was told that since Paul had made the first move, I should make the second move. I walked to Paul and we hugged,” he said.
‘I Never Wanted P-Square Back’
Despite the emotional reunion, Mr P said he made his position clear from the beginning. According to him, Paul wanted them to focus on bringing back P-Square, but he turned down the idea.
“I told him we are back as brothers, but I am not part of P-Square,” he revealed.
He also claimed their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, suggested they record a reunion video for fans. Although they agreed, Mr P said the video was never meant to announce the return of P-Square.
The Statement That Changed Everything
Mr P said one conversation convinced him they had different priorities. According to him, Paul said,
“Peter, I do not care if you like what I am about to say or not, but fk Rudeboy, fk Mr P, bring back P-Square.”
That statement, he said, confirmed that the reunion was about the music group and not family healing.
“I never wanted P-Square. I just wanted us to come back as family,” Mr P stated.
The singer also challenged anyone, including Paul, to provide evidence that contradicts his version of events.
He said he decided to speak because many people have continued to speculate about the brothers’ fallout without knowing the full story.
