President Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has said some of his opponents are exploiting insecurity to undermine his administration, insisting that he will seek re-election.

Tinubu spoke on Wednesday while receiving a delegation from Plateau state at the State House, Abuja.

“My enemies want to use insecurity in the country to get rid of me, but I’m a stubborn politician who refuses to go,” he said.

He added that he remains determined to continue in office and will campaign for a second term.

“I will campaign for my second term,” he said.

Tinubu also said his administration is working towards establishing state police as part of efforts to address insecurity.

“We’re going to work together to establish state police on a national scale,” he said.

“I believe once we have state police, enforcement of law and order will take care of some of these problems.”

Furthermore, the president urged stakeholders to take responsibility for peace and security in their communities.

“You have been appointed as a committee for peace. Go and search for it, look for it, and resolve it,” he said.

He said the government will act decisively against individuals behind violence.

“If you know the names of troublemakers who want to continue killing or instigate killing, we will use the instruments of office to deal with them,” he said.
