Nigerian Army Arrests Two Soldiers After Peller and Jarvis’ Traditional Wedding

Popular TikTok stars Peller and Jarvis are still trending after their colourful traditional wedding in Lekki. However, the celebration has taken a fresh twist. The Nigerian Army has arrested two soldiers who allegedly worked as security personnel at the event without official approval. The development has sparked fresh conversations across social media.

The soldiers, identified as Privates Onasanya Ifeoluwa and Ukpai Onyinyechi, serve with the Nigerian Army Medical Services and Hospital in Obalende, Lagos. According to Army spokesperson Musa Yahaya, both men were arrested on Tuesday after videos from the wedding went viral online. The clips showed the soldiers in uniform controlling the crowd and escorting guests during the ceremony.

One video attracted even more attention online. It showed a soldier walking beside TikTok personality Ivanna through the busy venue. As a result, many Nigerians questioned why military officers were providing security at a private event.

The Nigerian Army has consistently maintained that its personnel cannot accept private security jobs or take part in any deployment without official approval. The incident also raised concerns because it appeared to conflict with the Federal Government’s directive withdrawing police and military escorts from private individuals who are not legally entitled to such protection.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army has started a full investigation into the incident. Authorities want to know how the soldiers got involved and whether other military personnel also took part in the assignment. For now, the two soldiers remain in custody as the investigation continues.

The outcome could determine the disciplinary action they may face if the allegations are confirmed.
