The UK Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has confirmed that Poco Lee’s sexual offence case remains ongoing.
The clarification comes amid online rumours that the Nigerian dancer had been released and the case dropped. Poco Lee, whose real name is Iweh Odinaka, is due before Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15, 2026. The hearing will focus on plea and trial preparation.
The CPS Press Office confirmed that the matter remains active.
“This case is still live, and Odinaka is still set to appear for a PTPH at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 15 September 2026,” the agency said.
This means the case has not been withdrawn, despite claims spreading across social media. However, the CPS did not confirm whether Poco Lee is currently in custody or on bail.
Poco Lee faces five sexual offence charges in the UK. They include one count of attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.
Meanwhile, the court has imposed a reporting restriction to protect the complainant’s identity. The restriction means certain details that could identify the complainant cannot be published.
Importantly, the September 15 hearing is not the trial itself. Instead, the Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing will help prepare the case for the next stage. Poco Lee remains legally presumed innocent unless a court finds him guilty.
For now, the latest confirmation from the CPS shows that the case remains active, despite the release rumours making the rounds online.
