Five abducted Gateway Polytechnic students have been rescued after a police operation in Ogun State.
Police authorities said the students were freed during a coordinated rescue mission following their abduction in Ogun State.
According to officials, the kidnappers opened fire when security operatives moved in. A gun battle followed, but the suspects were overpowered by superior firepower and tactical response.
The attackers reportedly fled the scene with suspected gunshot wounds, while all five students were rescued safely.
Police also confirmed that no security personnel was injured during the operation.
The successful rescue comes amid growing concerns over student safety and rising kidnapping cases in parts of Nigeria.
