Deadly Russian strikes on Kyiv have left at least 11 people dead and dozens injured just before the NATO summit.
At least 11 people were killed and 46 others injured after Russian missiles struck Kyiv overnight, according to the city’s military administration. Five children were among the injured, while three more people died elsewhere in the Kyiv region.
Officials said residential apartment blocks, warehouses and other civilian buildings were damaged in more than 20 strike locations. Rescue teams are still searching for survivors trapped beneath collapsed buildings.
The latest Russian strikes on Kyiv came only days after another deadly attack that killed 30 people in the Ukrainian capital. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had warned that intelligence suggested Russia was preparing another large-scale assault.
The attacks come ahead of the NATO summit in Turkey, where Zelensky is expected to push allies for stronger air defence support and additional military assistance.
