The music industry is in shock after reports emerged that singer Oliver Tree died in a helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The accident reportedly happened on June 14 and claimed six lives. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine what caused the tragedy.
According to reports, two helicopters collided while flying over an electric vehicle storage yard in Rio’s southwest area. The crash triggered a massive fire that destroyed more than 20 vehicles.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, but all six victims were confirmed dead.
Besides Oliver Tree, the victims reportedly included Lucas Vignale, Gaspar Prim, Lucas Brito Chaves, and pilots Alexandre Souza and Charles Marsillac. Brazilian aviation authorities expressed sympathy to the victims’ families.
Meanwhile, investigators from aviation safety agencies have started examining the wreckage and gathering evidence. The reported accident happened while Tree was touring South America.
The 32-year-old artist had performed in São Paulo days earlier and was expected to continue his tour in Portugal next month. He is known for hit songs like “Life Goes On,” “When I’m Down,” and “Miss You.” Tree built a loyal global fan base through his unique music style and bold fashion choices.
