Take-It-Back Movement Protests Oyo Abductions, Demands Release of Kidnapped Pupils

Members of the Take-It-Back Movement on Monday took to the streets of Ibadan to protest the worsening security situation in Oyo State and the continued detention of abducted pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area.

The demonstrators gathered at Mokola Roundabout, one of the busiest intersections in the state capital. They urged authorities to strengthen rescue efforts and tackle the growing wave of kidnappings across the state.

Protesters Demand Immediate Action

During the demonstration, protesters carried placards with messages calling for improved security and the safe return of the victims.

Some of the inscriptions read: “Security for all, not for a few,” “Government must end kidnapping in Oyo State,” “We demand safer roads and communities,” and “Protect farmers, traders and students.”

In addition, participants stressed the need for peace, justice and protection for all residents.

Growing Frustration Over Insecurity

Speaking at the protest, one of the demonstrators said many Nigerians were becoming increasingly frustrated by persistent security challenges.

According to the protester, citizens no longer feel safe in their communities and expect stronger action from government authorities.

The speaker also noted that residents of Oyo State continue to live in fear as kidnapping incidents rise across several communities.

Abduction Sparks Public Outrage

The protest followed recent attacks on schools and surrounding communities in Ahoro-Esiele, located in Oriire Local Government Area.

During the attacks, armed men abducted several pupils, students and teachers, triggering widespread concern among parents and residents.

Consequently, calls for urgent intervention have grown louder across the state.

Families Renew Appeals for Rescue

Meanwhile, relatives of the victims have continued to appeal to the Oyo State Government and security agencies for help.

They have repeatedly urged authorities to intensify rescue operations and secure the safe release of their loved ones.

Furthermore, family members expressed concern over the prolonged captivity of the abductees and called for swift action to end their ordeal.

Pressure Mounts on Authorities

As public concern grows, civil society groups and residents continue to demand stronger security measures.

Many believe the latest abductions highlight the urgent need for improved protection in schools and vulnerable communities.

For now, attention remains focused on ongoing rescue efforts and the safe return of the kidnapped pupils and teachers.
