It was an emotional night in Lagos as friends and colleagues honoured late actress Temitope Osoba. The candlelight and night of tribute held on Tuesday, August 11, at LTV 8, Ikeja. However, the absence of several top Yoruba Nollywood stars caught attention. Toyosi Adesanya, Jigan Babaoja, Alesh Sanni and Foluke Daramola were among those present. Foluke had earlier announced the event and requested a white dress code.
Meanwhile, questions about Temitope’s sudden death continue to generate reactions. Her cause of death remains unclear. Reports had claimed she died while being taken to a hospital. At the tribute, Alesh Sanni cleared the air about one major claim. He stated that Temitope did not die from cancer. He also urged the public to respect the family’s grief. According to him, people should allow her loved ones to mourn privately.
Her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, also shared disturbing claims about her final moments. He alleged that Temitope died at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos. He also denied claims that she was poisoned or maltreated before her death. Before her passing, Temitope reportedly sent a voice note. In it, she asked Prophetess Kehinde Osoba to collect her remains and give her a befitting burial.
Amid the growing controversy, actor Yomi Fabiyi called for a delay in Temitope’s burial. He said her remains showed marks and traces that deserve proper investigation. Fabiyi stressed that there was no need to rush the burial. For now, fans and colleagues continue to mourn Temitope while seeking clearer answers about what happened.
Her death has also sparked calls for transparency and a thorough investigation.
