US President Donald Trump says Iran must act quickly as negotiations to end the conflict remain deadlocked.
Donald Trump has warned Iran that “time is of the essence” as diplomatic efforts to end the ongoing conflict face growing uncertainty.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said Iran must move “FAST” or risk severe consequences. The warning came after reports that talks between Washington and Tehran had stalled over key demands tied to the war and Iran’s nuclear programme.
According to Iranian media, the United States rejected several proposals from Tehran, including demands to end military actions across the region, lift the naval blockade on Iranian ports and provide guarantees against future attacks.
Iranian reports also claimed Washington wants Tehran to reduce its nuclear operations to a single site and hand over its stockpile of highly enriched uranium.
The latest tension follows a ceasefire announced earlier this year after weeks of Israeli and US air strikes on Iran. While the truce has mostly held, negotiations toward a long-term agreement have made little progress.
Iran continues to control the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy route responsible for transporting nearly 20% of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas.
Pakistan is currently acting as a mediator between both sides, but major disagreements over security, sanctions and Iran’s nuclear programme remain unresolved.
