Terrorists have abducted a local government chairman in Zamfara State after killing two police officers and a vigilante during the attack.
According to the military, the attackers overpowered the chairman’s security team before taking him away to an unknown location.
The Theatre Command said it had deployed all available resources to rescue the abducted chairman and track down those responsible for the attack.
Military authorities assured the Zamfara State Government and residents that every effort was being made to secure the victim’s release.
The command also appealed to members of the public to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies.
Residents were encouraged to provide credible and timely intelligence through established security channels to support the ongoing operation.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to restoring peace and security across Zamfara and other affected communities.
It stated that it would continue working closely with other security agencies until the abducted chairman is rescued and the perpetrators are arrested and brought to justice.
