The Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) is set to host the second edition of the Nigeria Broadcasting Awards in Abuja, bringing together top players in the country’s media industry.
The highly anticipated event will take place on April 8, 2026, at the NAF Conference Centre, with stakeholders across radio and television expected to attend.
Organisers say the Broadcasting Awards are designed to celebrate excellence and promote professionalism in Nigeria’s broadcast sector. The initiative, endorsed at BON’s General Assembly, reflects efforts to raise standards and encourage innovation across the industry.
This year’s edition has attracted 204 entries, covering outstanding broadcast performances from 2024, highlighting the scale and competitiveness of the event.
Top Categories and Industry Recognition
The awards will feature 24 competitive categories, including Station of the Year, Best Reporter, Best Newscaster, and Best Producer, recognizing excellence across both radio and television platforms.
In addition to competitive awards, distinguished personalities and institutions will receive special recognition, including lifetime and posthumous honours for their contributions to Nigeria’s broadcasting industry.
The selection process is being led by veteran broadcaster Danladi Bako, alongside a panel of experts drawn from key industry bodies, ensuring a transparent and credible evaluation.
Industry leaders say the event is more than just an awards ceremony—it is a platform to inspire growth, strengthen collaboration, and shape the future of broadcasting in Nigeria.
