Grammy-nominated singer Davido has shared that he is rethinking his plans to enter politics. He expressed concerns about the difficulties celebrities face when transitioning into political roles.
During a recent Twitch livestream with streamer Davrel, Davido explained that his thriving entertainment career and legacy have made him hesitant about stepping into the political world.
He pointed out that many celebrities who have tried to make the switch haven’t been successful.
“At first, I wanted to go into politics. But honestly, now I see it differently,” Davido said. “All the goodwill, my name, my career, the hard work, and the fan base we’ve built—it’s tricky. People view things in a certain way. When superstars move into politics, the transition hasn’t really worked out well.”
He added, “I feel like being a politician is its own profession. It’s like their business.”
