Katy Perry denies Ruby Rose’s allegations of sexual assault

Katy Perry has strongly denied allegations made by actress Ruby Rose, who accused the singer of sexual assault in posts shared on social media.

Ruby Rose, 40, made the claims on Threads on Sunday while responding to an article about Perry attending Coachella. In one post, Rose wrote: “Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at Spice Market Nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a s**t what she thinks.”

As the story gained traction online, Rose shared more details about the alleged incident. Revealing she had previously framed it as a joke. She explained: “After it, I threw up on her. I told the story publicly but changed it to be a ‘funny drunk story’ because I didn’t know how else to handle it.”

Rose also alleged that she stayed silent for years because Perry later offered to help her with a visa issue. “She agreed to help me get my US visa, so I kept it a secret. But I did tell ya’ll she wasn’t a good person. Instead, I got attacked by everyone,” Rose said. She added: “The psychological manipulation was strong with that one.”

Reflecting on why she decided to speak out now, Rose wrote: “I was in my early 20s, and I’m now 40. It has taken me almost two decades to say this publicly.” She continued: “I’m grateful to have found my voice. But it shows how deeply trauma and sexual assault can impact someone. Thank you for seeing me.”

Katy Perry, 41, responded through a representative, firmly denying the claims. Her spokesperson called the accusations “categorically false” and described them as “dangerous, reckless lies.”

The statement also pointed to Rose’s history of making public allegations on social media. “Ms. Rose has a well-documented pattern of making serious claims against various individuals. Which have repeatedly been denied by those named,” the spokesperson added.

The allegations surfaced as Katy Perry attended Coachella’s first weekend with her boyfriend, former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Perry shared photos and videos from the festival. Including clips of the couple holding hands and dancing during Justin Bieber’s performance.

Sources say Perry and Rose have had a strained relationship for years. One insider commented: “Ruby and Katy have a complicated history—they’ve never really been friends.” The source added: “This allegation has shocked everyone. Screenshots of Ruby’s posts are circulating in the music industry, and people don’t know what to believe.”

The dispute has sparked widespread attention online, with Rose insisting she is finally speaking her truth, while Perry continues to reject the claims as false.
