US Military seizes another vessel in Indian Ocean

The United States says it has seized another tanker linked to Iranian oil shipments.

United States military forces have seized another vessel in the Indian Ocean as part of efforts to enforce sanctions on Iran.

According to the United States Department of Defense, troops boarded what it described as a “sanctioned stateless vessel” carrying oil from Iran overnight.

US officials said they will continue maritime enforcement operations to disrupt networks accused of helping Iran move oil and other materials globally.

Ship-tracking data identified the tanker as Majestic X, located in waters between Sri Lanka and Indonesia. Reports said the vessel was heading toward Zhoushan, China.

The seizure comes just one day after Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said they had taken control of two ships near the Strait of Hormuz.

That followed an earlier US boarding of another Iranian-linked vessel in the Bay of Bengal, highlighting the growing back-and-forth at sea.

The latest incidents come during heightened tensions linked to a US blockade targeting Iranian ports and shipping activity.

Analysts warn that expanding maritime confrontations could disrupt energy markets and major trade routes across Asia and the Middle East.

With both sides increasing pressure at sea, global concern is rising over the risk of a wider shipping and security crisis.
