President Donald Trump is set to attend the White House Correspondents’ Dinner for the first time since taking office, ending a streak of skipping the event that lasted for years.
His decision hasn’t gone down well with everyone. Hundreds of journalists have signed an open letter calling on the White House Correspondents’ Association to speak out more strongly against the president.
They argue that the event should be used as a platform to push back against what they describe as ongoing threats to press freedom.
