Nigerian music legend 2Baba has finally addressed the viral reports claiming he has reunited with his ex-wife, Annie Macaulay. The rumours spread after an old video resurfaced online. In the clip, Annie allegedly spoke about finding her way back to the singer after being misled.
However, the video quickly sparked fresh conversations across social media. Shortly after, Annie cleared the air. She explained that old videos and false stories about her were making the rounds online. According to her, she is single, no longer lives with 2Baba, and is fully focused on raising her daughters and building her career.
Not long after Annie’s statement, 2Baba also reacted to the trending reports. The singer dismissed the reunion claims with a short message on his Instagram Story. He wrote, “Abeg na old video o.” His response confirmed that the viral clip did not reflect their current situation.
Meanwhile, social media users quickly shared mixed reactions. While some praised both celebrities for correcting the rumours, others questioned why the singer waited before speaking up. One user wrote, “The way internet forced love on people is wild,” while another simply commented, “Tubaba no want wahala.”
The former couple are no longer together
The former couple officially ended their marriage after 2Baba announced their separation in January last year. Since then, the singer has moved on with Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru. The couple traditionally tied the knot on July 25, 2025, in a private ceremony attended by close family members.
Months later, they welcomed their first child together. Although they kept the baby’s gender private, they later dedicated the child during a church service. Natasha has also continued to celebrate her husband publicly. On Valentine’s Day, she praised him after he surprised her with flowers, balloons, and romantic decorations.
Despite moving on, 2Baba has remained in the spotlight over his personal life. Last year, videos surfaced online claiming he was arrested in the UK after an alleged altercation involving Natasha. The singer denied the reports at the time. The situation gained more attention after a former staff member accused Natasha of controlling the music star during an interview. 2Baba briefly joined the live broadcast before leaving moments later, adding more fuel to the online speculation.
With both him and Annie now denying reunion rumours, they have made it clear they are living separate lives.
