Napoli Beat Atalanta 3–1 to Regain Serie A Lead

Napoli reclaimed the top spot in Serie A on Saturday after defeating Atalanta 3–1, thanks to a brilliant brace from Brazilian winger David Neres. The champions delivered a confident response after their previous loss to Bologna, moving to 25 points, one ahead of Inter Milan, Bologna, and Roma.

Napoli started aggressively and quickly took control of the match. Neres opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a composed finish. He struck again in the 38th minute, doubling Napoli’s advantage after a swift attacking move that exposed Atalanta’s defensive gaps.

Just before halftime, Nao Lang headed in Napoli’s third goal, giving the champions a comfortable 3–0 lead at the break.

Atalanta Fight Back but Fall Short

Atalanta reduced the deficit shortly after the restart when Gianluca Scamacca fired in a goal to give his team hope. However, the visitors struggled to sustain pressure, and their momentum faded.

With the defeat, Atalanta now sit 13th on the table, holding 13 points from 12 matches, and continue to face inconsistency issues.

Bologna Impress with Big Away Win

Earlier on Saturday, Bologna delivered one of their best performances of the season, beating Udinese 3–0 away. The team missed a first-half penalty but didn’t lose confidence.

Tommaso Pobega struck twice within five minutes around the hour mark, putting Udinese on the back foot. Federico Bernardeschi sealed the win with a stoppage-time goal. The result lifts Bologna level with Inter Milan and Roma on 24 points.

Cagliari and Genoa Share Six Goals

In another early fixture, Cagliari and Genoa played out a thrilling 3–3 draw in Sardinia. Both sides exchanged leads throughout the encounter, but neither could find the winner in a highly entertaining contest.

Fiorentina Hold Juventus to a Draw

Later in the day, Juventus traveled to face bottom-placed Fiorentina. Filip Kostic gave Juve the lead before halftime with a long-range effort. Fiorentina responded quickly after the restart when Rolando Mandragora found the top corner to secure a 1–1 draw for the struggling hosts.

Inter Milan remain the early title favourites, having won 11 of their last 12 matches across competitions.
