Brentford produced a dominant second-half display to beat west London rivals Chelsea 3-0 and extend their unbeaten Premier League run.
The Bees broke the deadlock in the 61st minute when Jaidon Anthony headed home from close range after Jannik Schuster nodded a deep corner back across the Chelsea goal. Chelsea pushed for an equaliser but struggled to create clear chances despite enjoying plenty of possession.
Brentford then struck again with seven minutes remaining after a swift counter-attack. Kevin Schade was sent through on goal, but his effort was saved by Chelsea goalkeeper Emi Martinez. Igor Thiago reacted quickest to the rebound, placing the ball into an empty net for his first Premier League goal of the season.
Fabio Carvalho completed the scoring in stoppage time, finishing at the back post after Schade’s cross took a deflection.
The victory lifts Keith Andrews’ Brentford side to third in the Premier League and extends their unbeaten start to the season. Chelsea, meanwhile, have now gone three league matches without a win, losing two of those games. They also failed to score for the first time since Xabi Alonso took charge.

Impressive Second Half from Brentford
The Blues had edged a quiet first half, with Pedro Neto and Morgan Rogers producing their closest attempts. The second half began at a quicker pace, but genuine opportunities remained limited until Brentford capitalised on Chelsea’s failure to deal with a corner.
Martinez chose not to come for the delivery, allowing Anthony to meet Schuster’s header and score his first goal for Brentford. Chelsea continued to control territory after conceding but could not turn their possession into a clear opening. Brentford remained dangerous on the break and eventually punished them through Thiago’s rebound. Carvalho’s late finish then capped an emphatic victory for Andrews’ side.
“It’s important that you enjoy evenings like this because you work so hard and there are so many tough days in this game,” Andrews told BBC Match of the Day.
He added that beating a west London rival made the result particularly satisfying after the challenges faced by the team.
