Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have finally said “I do.” The power couple exchanged vows in a breathtaking ceremony at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The wedding was officiated by actor and comedian Adam Sandler, making an already unforgettable day even more special.
According to Swift’s longtime publicist, Tree Paine, the couple wore custom Christian Dior outfits designed by Jonathan Anderson. Taylor completed her bridal look with Christian Louboutin shoes and elegant Cartier jewellery. Instead of traditional bridesmaids and groomsmen, the singer chose her brother, Austin Swift, as her man of honour, while Travis stood beside his brother, Jason Kelce, as best man.
The ceremony attracted some of the biggest names in entertainment. Hugh Grant, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Dakota Johnson, Benson Boone, Jason Sudeikis and Graham Norton were among the famous guests.
Soon after the couple became husband and wife, Madison Square Garden glowed in soft pink and lavender lights. Giant signs reading “JUST&T MARRIED” lit up the famous venue, sending fans into celebration.
Outside, thousands of Swifties sang hit songs, waved concert merchandise and waited for hours, hoping to witness history. Although security kept the event private, the excitement around the arena never stopped.
The celebrations stretched over two days. A smaller pre-wedding party took place on Thursday before the grand ceremony on Friday. Luxury black SUVs arrived one after another, carrying celebrity guests behind large privacy tents.
Meanwhile, police closed nearby roads as huge crowds gathered around the venue. Even the hot weather could not keep fans away. Some climbed nearby scaffolding for a better view, while others simply cheered every arriving vehicle.
Before the wedding, Swift and Kelce quietly donated $26 million to more than 20 charities. However, they never publicly confirmed the wedding plans before the big day.
Many fans have already called it the “wedding of the century.” Pop culture critic Kristen Meinzer explained why the marriage has captured worldwide attention.
“We worship at the throne of music and football, these are all the things we love in America married together,” she told the BBC.
She also praised New Yorkers for respecting celebrity privacy, saying,
“We aren’t people who run up to our celebrities, we usually leave them alone.”
Outside the venue, Canadian fan Emily admitted she expected “more gardens, more flowers,” but still believed the wedding would be magical. Another excited fan, Tara Rosales, said, “I can’t believe it, I’m actually shook and I’m so excited.”
One devoted Swiftie summed up the mood perfectly:
“She’s never an inconvenience. Taylor can do whatever she wants.”
