Mofe Duncan Slams Daddy Freeze Over Alexx Ekubo Event
Actor Mofe Duncan has called out Daddy Freeze over his comments about the service of songs held for late actor Alexx Ekubo. However, his response has won praise online for being respectful, heartfelt, and direct.
Daddy Freeze had criticised the event after attending it. He claimed the gathering felt more like a worship concert than a service of songs. As expected, his remarks triggered reactions from fans and colleagues.
Mofe Duncan was one of those who felt compelled to respond. Addressing Freeze, Mofe wrote: “With all due respect Sir… the night wasn’t about You or anyone else but ALEXX.”
He continued, “You stepped GRAVELY out of line.” The actor stressed that the event was “NOT a FUNERAL” but a “NIGHT OF TRIBUTES & A SERVICE OF SONGS.”
Duncan also revealed that hymns were sung during the programme.
“I personally cried during the rendition of BLESSED ASSURANCE,” he said.
Furthermore, Mofe explained that the worship session reflected Alexx’s personality. According to him, members of Alexx’s inner circle repeatedly shared how much the late actor loved worship. “A ‘concert’ of worship as you expressed is exactly what ALEXX would’ve wanted,” he stated.
He also pointed out that Daddy Freeze wore black to an all-white celebration of life which was against the dress code. Mofe ended his message with a strong warning. “May people not walk out on your own night of tributes,” he wrote.
The actor concluded by saying, “I hope I have been able to EDUCATE as well as CONVINCE you and not CONFUSE you that you stepped GRAVELY out of line and the night was not about you or your wants, needs or your opinion.”
His response has since attracted applause from many social media users, who praised him for defending Alexx’s memory with dignity and class.
