Former students of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner suspect say they were shocked by the allegations.
Cole Allen, the man accused in the shooting incident linked to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, has been described by former tutoring students as intelligent, normal and friendly.
A statement released through Asian American Civic Trust said students remembered Allen as knowledgeable across many subjects and polite in their interactions. They also expressed shock after learning he may be connected to the events of April 25.
Investigators are also reviewing a message allegedly sent by Allen to family members before the attack. According to reports, he described himself as a “friendly federal assassin” and claimed he intended to target administration officials.
Sources said Allen did not name Donald Trump directly, though officials believe senior government figures may have been potential targets.
US authorities say the investigation remains active, and motives have not been fully confirmed.
The case continues to raise urgent questions about political security and domestic threats in Washington.
