City’s dominant second half puts pressure on Arsenal in the title race.

Manchester City beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge

Manchester City boosted their Premier League title hopes with a commanding 3-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, cutting the gap to leaders Arsenal to six points.

After a slow first half, City took control early in the second period. Rayan Cherki delivered a precise cross for Nico O’Reilly to head home in the 51st minute. Just six minutes later, Cherki created another goal, setting up Marc Guehi for a composed finish against his former club. Jeremy Doku sealed the win after capitalising on a defensive error from Moises Caicedo.

The result comes a day after Arsenal’s shock defeat to Bournemouth, giving City renewed momentum in the title race. Pep Guardiola’s side now also have a game in hand, increasing the pressure on the league leaders.

Chelsea, meanwhile, struggled to respond despite brief early chances. Their defeat marks a third straight league loss, raising concerns about consistency as the season nears its climax.

The Premier League title race now looks wide open. City host Arsenal next weekend in a potentially decisive clash at the Etihad Stadium, a fixture that could reshape the standings.

With City historically strong in the final stretch of the season, their latest performance signals a serious challenge to Arsenal’s title ambitions.

The race for the Premier League crown is now firmly back on.
