Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has urged Nigerian children to believe in themselves, remain focused, and pursue their dreams with confidence.
She said children possess enormous potential and can achieve greatness with proper education, guidance, and opportunities.
Nonye Soludo Celebrates Children’s Day
The Anambra First Lady made the remarks in a statement released on Wednesday to commemorate the 2026 Children’s Day celebration.
Nonye Soludo, founder of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo initiative, encouraged children to stay curious, disciplined, and hardworking.
She also advised them to uphold patriotism and moral values as Nigeria joined other countries to celebrate Children’s Day.
“To every Anambra child out there: believe in yourself, stay curious, work hard, and never stop dreaming,” she said.
“The future is bright, and it belongs to you. Grab it with both hands.”
First Lady Advocates Equal Opportunities
Furthermore, Soludo spoke on the 2026 Children’s Day theme, “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child.”
She stressed the need to build a society where every child enjoys equal access to quality education, healthcare, and protection.
According to her, children should enjoy equal opportunities regardless of gender, disability, location, or socio-economic background.
She added that the Anambra State Government remains committed to creating a safer and more progressive environment for children.
Anambra Committed to Child Development
In addition, the First Lady said the state would continue investing in programmes that support learning, innovation, and child development.
She described children as the pride and future of Anambra State.
“Our children are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are the pride and future of Anambra State,” she stated.
She noted that the government would continue creating an environment where children can learn, grow, dream, and succeed without discrimination.
Theme Focuses on Inclusion
This year’s Children’s Day theme highlights the importance of inclusion and equal opportunities for children across Nigeria.
The celebration also promotes access to education, healthcare, protection, and social development for every child.
