Troops have rescued 10 victims and disrupted several kidnapping operations in Plateau and Kaduna states.
Troops of Operation Enduring Peace rescued 10 kidnapped victims and foiled multiple abduction attempts during security operations conducted across Plateau and Kaduna states within the last 48 hours.
According to military authorities, six passengers were rescued along the Hawan Kibo–Rafin Sayin road in Plateau State after suspected kidnappers intercepted a commercial vehicle travelling from Lafia to Jos. Troops launched a search operation after finding the abandoned vehicle on the highway. The driver remains missing, and rescue efforts are ongoing.
In a separate operation in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, soldiers rescued a pastor and his wife after responding to a distress call. The couple, who sustained injuries during the attack, were taken to a medical facility for treatment.
In Kaduna State, troops responded to reports of armed men blocking a highway in Sanga Local Government Area. Two injured passengers were rescued after suspected terrorists abducted travellers from a commercial vehicle. Security forces recovered ammunition casings at the scene and have continued efforts to locate the remaining victims.
The military said the operations reflect its commitment to securing highways, protecting communities and tracking down criminal groups.
Security forces have intensified search operations as efforts continue to rescue missing victims and apprehend fleeing suspects.
