Traditional Festival Attracts Political and Cultural Figures
Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, have arrived at the Ojude Oba festival in Ijebu-Ode.
Their arrival added more colour to the annual cultural celebration, which continues to draw large crowds across Ogun State.
Cultural Display Marks 2026 Edition
Ojude Oba festival featured rich displays of traditional attire and cultural heritage.
Participants appeared in agbadas, gele head ties, and beaded accessories, while different cultural groups showcased organised processions.
As a result, the venue turned into a vibrant display of Ijebu identity and tradition.
Festival Draws Large Crowd
The festival holds annually on the third day after Eid-el-Kabir.
It attracts thousands of visitors, including politicians, entertainers and members of the Nigerian diaspora.
Consequently, Ojude Oba remains one of the most recognised cultural gatherings in southwestern Nigeria.
Absence of Awujale Noted
This year’s celebration takes place without the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona.
He passed away in July last year after a 65-year reign.
His absence marks a significant moment in the history of the festival.
