Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has agreed a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2028.
Hansi Flick has agreed a contract extension with FC Barcelona until 2028 following the club’s latest La Liga title success.
Barcelona confirmed the German coach has extended his stay by one year, with an option for an additional season. Flick was already under contract for next season before the new agreement was reached.
The 61-year-old guided Barcelona to their 29th La Liga title after Sunday’s victory over Real Madrid. It marked his second league title in two seasons with the Catalan club.
Speaking after the announcement, Flick said he was pleased with the trust shown by the club and its management.
Barcelona secured the title with three matches remaining and could still finish the season with 100 points. Flick also led the team to Copa del Rey success during his first season in charge after replacing Xavi in 2024.
Before joining Barcelona, Flick managed Bayern Munich and the Germany national football team. During his time at Bayern, he won two Bundesliga titles, the UEFA Champions League, and the FIFA Club World Cup.
A minute’s silence was also observed before Sunday’s match following the death of Flick’s father over the weekend.
Barcelona will now look to finish the season strongly as Flick prepares for another title challenge next year.
