Israeli strikes kill 39 In Lebanon amid renewed Hezbollah conflict

Lebanon says dozens were killed after another wave of Israeli air strikes across the country’s south.

At least 39 people were killed in fresh Israeli strikes across southern Lebanon, according to the Lebanese health ministry, as tensions between Hezbollah and Israel continue to rise despite an earlier ceasefire agreement.

One of the deadliest attacks hit the town of Saksakiyeh, where officials said seven people, including a child, were killed and 15 others injured. The Israel Defense Forces said it targeted Hezbollah members operating from a military site and acknowledged reports of civilian casualties.

Lebanese authorities also accused Israeli drones of carrying out multiple strikes in Nabatieh, including an attack that reportedly killed a Syrian man and seriously injured his 12-year-old daughter. The health ministry claimed the drone struck repeatedly as the victims tried to flee.

The renewed violence comes weeks after a ceasefire announced by Donald Trump aimed to reduce hostilities between Israel and Lebanon. However, both sides have continued exchanging fire along the border.

Hezbollah later launched a drone attack into northern Israel, injuring three Israeli reservists, according to the Israeli military. Israel says its operations are focused on preventing Hezbollah activity near the border, while Lebanon reports rising civilian casualties from the strikes.

Lebanese officials say more than 120 people have been killed in Israeli attacks over the past week alone, as fears grow over a wider regional escalation.
