Rapper Future faces allegations from ex-girlfriend over claims not seen their son in over a year

Rapper Future is facing new allegations from his ex-girlfriend, Brittni Mealy, who claims he hasn’t seen their 13-year-old son, Prince, in over 16 months. The claims come amid an ongoing legal battle between the two.

In a letter dated April 7, 2026, submitted as part of their court case. Mealy denied accusations that she had prevented Future from seeing their son.

“I have not blocked access in any way, shape, or form,” she stated. Mealy further alleged that Future has “not seen his son in over sixteen months, has not called him. And has not meaningfully inquired” about his education, health, or overall well-being.

She also claimed that Future missed important milestones, such as birthdays and school events. Despite having direct access to Prince, including a phone number he could use at any time.

Additionally, Mealy accused Rapper Future of intentionally distancing himself. She alleged that he changed his phone number and instructed those around him not to share it with their son. She also claimed that Future “has given strict orders that those in his circle and family are not to have a relationship with his son” and even fired an employee who had formed a bond with Prince.

Mealy addressed a separate incident involving Future’s mother, who had requested access to Prince. Mealy said she declined the request, explaining that she was under “no legal obligation” to grant it.

This dispute is part of a larger legal battle between the former couple. Earlier this year, Mealy accused Future of failing to comply with a court order. Requiring him to secure a $500,000 life insurance policy naming their son as the beneficiary.

Future’s legal team has denied this claim, stating that the policy was, in fact, obtained. Mealy, however, suggested that Future only takes action when issues become public. Alleging that his responses are driven more by concern for his image than his responsibilities as a father.
