Former Olympic cyclist Rohan Dennis has admitted to driving despite a court-imposed ban linked to his late wife’s death.
Australian cyclist Rohan Dennis pleaded guilty in an Adelaide court to driving while disqualified after police stopped him last month. Officers found Dennis behind the wheel with two children in the vehicle, despite a five-year driving ban.
The ban followed the 2023 incident that led to the death of his wife, fellow Olympic cyclist Melissa Hoskins. Dennis received a suspended prison sentence in 2025 after pleading guilty to creating the likelihood of harm. More serious charges were dropped under a plea agreement.

Case returns to court
The court heard that prosecutors want the case transferred to the District Court. They will seek to address both the driving offence and Dennis’ alleged breach of his good behaviour bond.
The fatal incident happened after an argument at the couple’s home. The court ruled Dennis acted recklessly but was not criminally responsible for Hoskins’ death.
Rohan Dennis is expected to return to court in September as legal proceedings continue.
